Yay flakies!

Nail polish flakies like these only look good with a dark dark background. Doesn't even work on bright red. Almost black nail polishes make the flakies stand out.

Glossybox - February 2012 (Valentines Day Edition)

Hii!

My February Glossybox arrived this morning, which was a pleasant surprise (even if it was an 8am wake up call) since I didn't get a tracking number for it. And if you're wondering why I didn't review last months' Glossybox, it's because I actually unsubscribed. But Groupon had an offer for this month's "limited edition" box for only $7, which is less than half price, so I thought, hey why not.

The box was a bright hot pink, perfect for the Valentines Day theme. And I love these boxes, you can use to them store nail polish (it's the perfect size) or even as a gift box.

When I first opened the box, I was met with a strong scent, that wasn't unbearable, but noticable, which turned out to to be the Shower Gel in A Sponge. It was a brand and product that was completely new to me, so I'm keen to try this out. I love how it's in a heart shape, so cute! And it's actually the size of the box. Pretty big.

The second thing that caught my eye was these parrots haha.

If you look closely at the bottom of the square, in white writing, it says 12 Emergency Cushioned Nail Files.

It's so cute! Tiny little nail files for you to chuck in your bag/wallet and those days where you chip your nail you can just bring these little things out and use them! So cute, seriously.

I received my very first e.l.f. product! It's this candy pink lip gloss, which smells amazing, sweet and fruity, but it has glitters, and I'm not really a fan of glitter on my lips, unfortunately.

Other items I received was a sample size of Proactiv's Deep Cleaning Wash (60mL) which apparently works great to penetrate pores and get rid of breakouts. It says it works on the entire body as well as your face.

And also, my favourite lip balm to date, the Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm. I'm glad I have a back-up cos I've used a lot of my other one which I received at last year's ABBW (part 1 & part 2).

Ooh and cute little heart shaped lollies! They're exactly like these little candies I used to eat when I was little...what was it called again? The colourful ones with the hot pink wrapper and there was like 10 of them inside in a roll thing. And it looks like round tablets but they were kind of sour-ish.

Ok I went and googled it. These! Wow I haven't had these in ages. Except the one I just ate just then. The heart candy I mean.

So overall the box...was pretty decent! It didn't blow me away, though. The only product I didn't like was the lipgloss, which was sad because that was my first e.l.f product :( I saw some reviews of the other boxes that people got and other people got nail polish from Polished London, and a sample of Bobbi Brown's mascara!

If I got those products in my box then this box would be 5/5 :)

So I decided to vlog about random parts of my day and put it into a summary video at the end of the week, but I realised I talk to much, so this is already 10 minutes and its 2 days. 11 Questions Tag - Round 2

Helloooooo!

You might have seen my previous 11Q tag a few months ago (what, has it really been a few months zomg time flies) BUT here's another set of questions, cos I know you guys like seeing personal posts :)

I forgot to add 11 things about me in the last tag so I shall do so now.

1. I have a little blanket that I still kind of sleep with, hehe. It stays on my bed all the time and even when it's hot, I still hug it and if my air con is on during the night, it's what I use to cover my body with LOL. I've had this blanket ever since I was a few months old. It's got rips and holes but I still love and sleep with it.

2. I have never paid for a sandwich loaf of bread in my entire life. I get free bread single day. My dad has been in the bread delivering business even before I was born and so I get free bread from Buttercup, which houses the likes of Mighty Soft and Helgas.

3. I'm a bit of a tear jerker. I wasn't as emotional as say, a few years ago, but yeah I feel like I'm much more sensitive to a lot of things. Like you know those reality tv shows ESPECIALLY THE BIGGEST LOSER, omg seriously, me = crying. I'm such a wuss LOL.

4. I hate chilli. I can't take it :(

5. I've never been interstate except a school excursion to Canberra. I've been overseas 8 times though. But only to Vietnam LOL. I have no relatives in America.

6. I always set my alarm half an hour before the actual time I physically have to get up. So if I need to get up at 7am, I set it to 6:30. Time for me to snooze and stretch, and by the time half an hour is over, I don't feel as tired.

7. I actually check my email and twitter within that half an hour before I wake up LOL.

8. I love reading. I'm a speed reader. If I come across a book I like, I'm pretty much absorbed in it for the entire day (if time permits) and I usually finish an average sized novel in about 1-2 days.

9. I'm under 60kg. Yay. I want to keep it that way lol. I'm trying to lose weight this year, since I am turning 21 and I wanna look good :(

10. I almost always wear leggings/tights. I'm not a jean person at all... Leggings are so comfortable, wear it with long shirts, long cardis, boots or flats. Suits my style.

11. I drool when I sleep LOL ok. Just a little.

1. What show are you embarrassed to admit you watch?

I'm not really embarrased to admit, but I do watch the News, and omg Letters and Numbers cos my dad loves that show LOL. I like watching those random cooking shows on SBS/ABC and those fishing shows too where they catch those big fishes and they're all screaming like WHOA OMG BIG FISH! I also like watching documentaries!

If you could be friends with one famous person, dead or alive, who would you choose?

Omg any korean popstar. The list is way too long. Like G-Dragon or Tiffany from SNSD.

It's not really weird but I check the weather all the time. ALL THE TIME. I always know the weather :) And if its raining on that day that I plan to go out, I change my plans to another day.

THIS IS TRUE LOL. If I see a colour of a shirt I like on someone (I know, not a stranger LOL), I get like a corner of their shirt and wrap it around my finger to see if it suits me or not HAHAH

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Definitely more of a dog person than a cat person. I used to have two dogs but my parents gave them away cos they barked a lot and my parents like cleanliness with no hassle. Dogs didn't appeal to them :(

How many languages do you speak?

Fluent vietnamese and english. I just know random words in Korean and Jap cos of all the dramas I watch hehe.

China Glaze - Tinsel Town

Hi guys!!!!! Old and NEW followers, hi :)

I'm so sorry I've been away :( I've just had a busy week and yeah. Anyway, here's my latest nails! It's China Glaze - Tinsel Town from their 2011 Holiday Collection, it's like a pretty gunmetal colour, dark grey with silver glitters. YAY glitters! :D

Did you notice the difference in quality of photos? Yay, I got myself an SLR (Canon 1100D) thanks to the awesome Harvey Norman sale :)

I'm still a noob right now, I'm pretty much like any other newbie, full happy going around taking "artistic" shots LOL. But I do love reading instruction manuals and how things work so we'll see how I progress hey.

OPI - Crown Me Already!

A gorgeous blingy silver with little round glitters and bigger hexagonal pieces as well. Consistency was great and super opaque in about 2 coats, but I put 3 for that more sparkle :3

Definitely the most sparkliest and blingy nail polish I own, love it!

Jumbo Sized Mirrored Compact, Complete with blush, pressed power and bronzer.

I saw this on the Australis Facebook page before Christmas last year, and I knew I had to get my hands on it. 3 products in one compact? Perfect for travelling!

When I was looking for it in the Australis section in Big W, I was looking for a small black compact, but it ended up being in this much bigger box. I didn't realise how big it was! But that's ok, size isn't really an issue for me, but it probably won't fit in your average size makeup bag...unless yours is big that is.

I like that it has a mirrored top so you can see if you have any eyeliner smudges without opening it up ;)

It measures about 11.5cm in diameter, which is pretty big, if I compare it to one of MAC's blushes. Big big big difference!

There's 3 products all in powder form.

The blush in Rosy Cheeks is matte, and is in such a pretty rose colour. I love this blush, it's finely milled and is so smooth when you swatch it with your fingers.

The pressed powder in Deep Natural is also matte and finely milled, I think it might be a little light for my complexion, but it's still smooth and feels really nice.

The bronzing powder in Sunkissed is actually a shimmer bronzer, but it's more of a sheen than shimmer and still looks good on the face. For lighter complexions like me, a light hand is perfect :)

Pros:

- Affordable at $19.95. You're pretty much paying $6.65 for each product.

- All in one compact with a mirror

- Great for travel

- Great pigmentation

- Smooth and silky texture

Cons:

- Might be a bit big, depending on your preferences for smaller compacts.

- Doesn't vary in different colour combinations. There would only be that one colour of blush, powder and bronzer.

- A bit of fallout, but I can deal with it :)

Overall, I really like this product. I'm in love with the blush and bronzer. I'm gonna try give the face powder another go since it is the biggest section of the compact. It's perfect for those on the go, especially when people do their makeup outside of the house, like touching up or even on the way to work on the train :P

I always like watching people apply their makeup on trains. It's actually really interesting. They spend a lot of time on mascara I've noticed LOL (not stalker at all......)

Personalised Kpop Calendar

The mail man chucked this at my door LOL.

But it's finally here, my personalised kpop calendar that I spent so many hours on, finding the right pictures, arranging it the way I wanted. I got it done online at Snapfish, cos I found this offer to do it for free! :D I don't know if you can do it anymore, but yeah. I'm so glad I found this offer cos I really wanted to have a kpop calendar this year! I had a Shaun the Sheep Calendar last year, so cute. I love that show so much.

I went into Morning Glory and found the tiny square calendars for like, $15 or something, and I told myself it wasn't worth it. And it's only focused on ONE artist, like a calendar with Big Bang only, or SNSD only...

With this calendar, I could put all my fave kpop artists in one!!!

The whole process took about a week. So yay, really happy with the fast process and shipping n_n

Of course Big Bang is on the cover.

I dedicated a whole month to GD, should've put him on the August month, but I like Yonghwa too okay. LOL, but yeah I also got Beast, 2PM, and CNBLUE too :)

I'm so so happy with my calendar, I even cleaned up my desk to accommodate it hahah. I'm really pleased with Snapfish and their fast processing time and perfect pictures, and quality. YAY!

I was so tempted to make another calendar with like puppies and cute animals, but why do I need two calendars...? Heh.

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately...

I've realised that ever since my shopping ban started, I have nothing to blog about cos I have nothing to show you! Ah, so sad.

So I'm just gonna photobomb you with some pics from my phone.

Did I tell you I'm doing the 365 (or 366) photo challenge? I'm doing so good so far! It's been 7 days....LOL. I got thisssss.

Oh and I have a new manicure too! I always do my nails at the end of the week, I give my nails a break during the weekdays :) As much as I love painting my nails in every colour every time, I always let them take a break. I don't get how women can have acrylic french tips forever and ever and ever.....

I started off with Essie - Haute As Hello.

I found it was a little too neon orange for my liking...so I got rid of it. I might sell this....

So then I switched it up and used BYS - Scented Bright Pink.

Yes, scented.

It kind of smells like...sweet..kind of fruity. But that goes away after I put my Seche Vite Top Coat haha. I don't really like the smell of Seche Vite but it goes away after a day or so.

For the stripes, I jsut used tape :) Paint the base (hot pink), sticky tape the parts you wanna cover and then paint over the desired colour :)

I used China Glaze - Something Sweet.

Don't mind me in the mirror....haha, that's the only position in my room with the best lighting

JANE EYRE!! I'm a sucker for those old school movies, those British romantic films set way back in the 1700s, 1800s kinda thing. I recently just watched Jane Eyre the 2011 movie, and I really really liked it. Mr Fairfax Rochester, hehe.

So yeah I went ahead and got the book and it's so thick! But don't worry I have my whole lifetime to finish it LOL.

I didn't read this in high school. I "read" Persuasion by Jane Austen. By "read", I mean reading summaries and random chunks of text I had to analyse LOL. But I'm gonna try my best and read this, even if it's going to take a long time.

I haven't been taking self pictures much because I hate the state of my hair and my actual camera is out of battery and I can't find the charger and cbf and all that.

OOOH and all my favourite TV shows are back!!!

How good were Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries! I watch The Secret Circle too..but that wasn't as good an ep as PLL and TVD.

Removing glitter nail polish

Now that the holiday celebrations are winding down, your glitter nails probably need some removing. Here's how I do mine, everyone has different ways, but this works for me, and hopefully it will work for you too! :)

What you need:

A sheet of foil (big enough for 10 strips to wrap around the tips of your fingers)

Nail polish remover

Cotton balls

This is what my nails looked like before. Sorry for the ugly state of nails, I was already removing my left hand when I realised I forgot to take a picture of my manicure, hence the random hairs of the cotton ball heh.

I used China Glaze - C-C-Courage with Revlon - Belle as a glitter top coat :)

Okay so the next step, I didn't take any pictures of how I put them on my nails but you get my drift right haha.

What I like to do is divide each cotton ball into 2. I find that with the smaller/thinner cotton ball, it soaks up more nail polish remover so it's easier for it to soak on the nail and hence remove.

However when I apply acetone onto my cotton ball, I don't DRENCH it. I apply enough acetone just so it's damp enough but not soaking wet that it drips everywhere. If that happens to be the case for you, and you accidentally have too much acetone on your cotton ball, just use another dry cotton ball to help soak the excess out of the drenched ball.

I hope that made sense LOL.

Anyway so you get your acetone dipped ball and you place it directly on top of your nail so that it covers the whole thing, then you grab your strip of foil and just wrap it around your finger on top of the cotton ball.

I think the reason for the foil is that it helps hold the cotton ball to your finger and also quickens the process of removing the polish.

So make sure that the foil is wrapped tight around.

This is what it should look like:

Wait about 5 minutes, then just grab the whole foil bit and pull it off your finger. This is what you should be left with.

Unraveled...all the polish stuck to that cotton ball like easy!

Clean nail!

If you pull off the foil and you missed the edges of your nails, just grab another cotton ball and remove it, easy peasy :)

Result: Clean, glitter-free nails!

Now you don't ever have to be scared of applying glitter polish! Go for it!

Takes 5 minutes to remove, no sweat :)

I hope you guys had a fabulous night, counting down and enjoying it with your loved ones, cos I sure did :)

I was going to blog about what kind of year 2011 was for me, but there's nothing much that's really interesting. Definitely the year I got into nails and nail art, my collection is slowly building up hehe.

I was going through my older photos of the year and realised that i failed to complete my 365 project, where you take a photo for every day of the year. BUT DW THIS YEAR GUYS, THIS YEAR!

I got my red provisional license last march, so I can go for my greens this year yay! I'm more confident in parking now...but who said reverse 90 degree parking (carparks in the shopping centre) was the easiest? I find that the hardest!!!

Easiest for me is definitely reverse parallel (streetside parking). Other people say that's hardest. But I disagreeee.

Blogging was so fun for me this year! I got to attend the first ever Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend in conjuction with IMATS and that was such an amazing time! I can't wait for this year's, it's going to just as epic :)

I've been at Typo for a year now, so the past year at Typo has been quite interesting but very fun! It's my first real job and I've gone through a lot of different customers, from lovely to downright fussy, but it's all part of the job and I love it.

I have sooo many Typo bags in my room now, and Cotton On...I always shop there now...discounts, heh.

So as for my New Year's resolutions, they completely flew out the window so I'm not even going to bother making some this year! LOL

Diet starts tmrw. I say that everyday, when tmrw means the day after tmrw and so forth HAHA.

Spending...I'm actually on a shopping ban for a MONTH. If my best friend can do it, SO CAN I!!!!

I'm kinda just blabbering on right now, so I'm gonna leave it at this.

Layering Glitter Polishes

For me, I see gold nails for Christmas, and silver nails for the New Year! I know it's a bit early to do a manicure for New Years, but I couldn't hold myself back from trying out the new silver polishes I got from Gloss the other day.

As always, pictures can be clicked on for a bigger picture. You guys knew that right :)

In some pictures, you can see that my pinky finger is sheer. That's because I tried BYS - Disco Ball first, but then found it too be too sheer, so on the rest of my fingers, I painted 2-3 layers of OPI - Birthday Babe, followed by 2 coats of BYS - Disco Ball and then 2 coats of Revlon - Belle. All topped off with Seche Vite.

I know it sounds like a lot of layers, but these nail polishes had a thin consistency, so it wasn't bad at all :)

Boxing Day Shopping

I sound like the news LOL.

Anyway! Today I went and headed off to the city to catch the boxing day sales. I slept over my cousin's house and we left the house a bit after 8am. First stop, David Jones! I didn't see a line outside the front door, so I thought it was pretty quiet, but it was pretty busy inside.

The main thing I wanted to get was either a Longchamp bag or a Mimco. I headed off to Mimco and spotted this bag right on the edge all by itself and snatched it up, reading the tag as $225! (RRP $450). It was a Button Zip Top, which I didn't like as much as the Turnlock Zip Top, but it was still pretty AND SO CHEAP! I don't know why no one picked that up at like 9am in the morning haha, but hey I'll take it!

After so long lusting after a Mimco, it's finally mine, yay!

That was pretty much my main purchase of the day, I was pretty satisfied with that to be honest, haha. But I did end up buying a few more little accessories and stuff.

Myer was so packed like seriously. There were LINES FOR THE ESCALATORS. D:

And I wanted to look at watches but people were so squished up the glass and not budging, so I was just like, OK WHATEVER. Most of them were like asian... (no suprise lol)

And some stores were SO COLD! They full blasted up their aircons, and it was literally a freezer inside. I couldn't even shop properly cos I was shivering so much. I had to go leave those shops cos I couldn't take it haha

Sigma Travel Set - Nice in Pink

Sigma Beauty had an amazing Black Friday FREE SHIPPING deal last month and so many people flocked onto the website to take advantage of this deal, which resulted in a SUPER LAGGY DELAYED website. I held my composure and patience and finally (after about half an hour) managed to add this travel kit to my cart and checkout successfully.

Before the free shipping deal started, I had such a hard time figuring out what brushes to get. I knew I wanted an eye blending brush, but I didn't know which one. There was about 4 different eye blending brushes on the site....and I was just like, UM.

So I ended up youtubing some of my favourite beauty gurus on their make-up looks and sigma brushes reviews and with all that new information, I ended up settling on the Travel Set in Nice in Pink. I chose pink over black because I realised that the black version had a foundation brush...and I don't use foundation brushes anymore because of my F80 Flat Kabuki brush.

The kit ended up costing me $29 :) WOO!

It took just under a month to get here, but that's okay, considering it was free shipping after all. Plus, I'm used to buying all this stuff on ebay from Hong Kong and everyone knows how long THAT takes. HAHA.

One thing I realised with the brushes is that there's Sigma engraved on all the ferrules of the brushes. It's a nice touch :)

I'm yet to wash them but I'll let you know if I experience any shedding. The brushes are soft at first touch and I'm excited to use them!

This works also as a heat protectant spray and helps you style as well as lightening your hair :)

I'm not entirely sure if this would work on brown hair....but it says that it works within 3-5 uses. Will try when I dye my hair a little lighter. I find that with my own dyed brown hair, it usually goes a little lighter in a few weeks anyway, just naturally with a combination of fading away and sunlight.

In the Nude for Silver Glitter

Just a weekend manicure. I tried out these cute sponges from Daiso. It works really well, but I'm pretty sure you can just use your average sponge at home from the kitchen (clean ones of course!)

As usual, I never take pictures in between the steps of my manicure. I should start doing that from now on haha.

I just painted the nude colour first(Ulta3 - Allure) and then using the metallic colour (Ulta3 - Envy), I splodged a bit onto a piece of cardboard and then used my sponge from that, and sponged it onto my nail tips. Finished with a coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust for the whole glitter effect :)

Alternatively, you can just skip the under colour and just sponge on the metallic/glitter colour only, still looks good :)

This colour isn't really a pink, it's more of like a peachy coral, but I like it none the less especially when it's blended out nicely. It's great as a base for similar coloured blushes cos it gives it that extra oomph.

NYX Round Lipstick - B52

A browney nude that leaves a sophisticated colour on your lips. Perfect for autumn weather, I reckon. I think it's more of a mature colour as well, its feminine and a gorgeous colour.

NYX Tinted Lip Spa - Copacabana
This is the first time I've tried this. What NYX says:

It's more of a lipbalm than a lipstick, in my opinion. It's definitely moisturising and definitely gives a hint of colour to your lips. Copacobana is a light pink, lighter than my natural lip colour and I just love it!
The only thing I dislike about this, is the smell and taste :( It's not very fragrant, but hey at least it doesn't smell like poo right :) LOL

I love the clear window at the top of the package so you can see what colour it is.

I really think these are comparable to Revlon's Lip Butters. They're both kinda the same product, with the whole tinted lip balm thingy.

Christmas is comingggggg~

Which is a really really fun time to ....... DO YOUR NAILS OKAY! LOL

Anyway, today's nails are super super easy to do, I actually saw these on xgianger. She does amaaaaazing nails! Mine aren't as pretty as hers, but I used the same method.

Glossybox - November 2011

So I guess you've all heard about these deluxe beauty sample boxes where you pay a certain amount for a monthly subscription and you get around 5 product samples sent to you to try at home. That way you can try the product at home before you actually go out and buy the full-size product. It's a neat way of trying it in your own comfort of your own home.

I remember watching my youtube beauty gurus and they got boxes like Birchbox (US) and Glossybox (UK) and I was always so jealous cos they always had awesome products like NARS and Smashbox, sometimes even full sized products for only $10 a month.

I kept waiting for Australia to come out with their boxes. I remember hearing about Hautebox in July or around that time and they said they were going to release the first box really soon and that never happened lol. I thought that was the only box to break through.

But it all began starting a few months ago, and so many different versions came out all at the same time, making us chicks hard to find what beauty box was worth subscribing to.

There was black and white LustHaveIt, which I received from ABBW. There's also the blue Bella Box, there's an ILoveThisBox and this one, Glossybox. Glossybox is originally from the UK, but it joined forces with Beautybox.

I chose Glossybox because their brands appealed to me the most. Some of the brands in their box may include products from Australis, Bobbi Brown, Essie, Sally Hansen and YSL. I was mostly drawn to Essie and Sally Hansen because of their nail products hehehe.

November's Glossybox was the first box after the collaboration of Beautybox and Glossybox. So I was really excited. It did take a while for the box to arrive though....I personally would've liked to receive the box in the earlier weeks of Novemeber rather than right at the end ... (I received it on Nov 28) but they had issues with their suppliers or something.

So when it finally came, it was a sturdy black and pink box with the Glossybox logo.

Inside the box is the actual box.

Nicely wrapped with a cute pink bow and a sticker sealing the contents.

1. Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil
Full size: 200mL - $60
It says that it's a 2-in-1 formula that removes all traces of makeup and cleanses skin. I'm yet to use it, but its Bobbi Brown, so I have high hopes for it. But even if it's that good, I don't think I'd be purchasing the full price product cos its $60 phwoar! I use FOA and thats less than $10 for 125mL.

2. Essie - Braziliant
Full size: 15mL - $18.95
Yay for Essie nail polishes! I'm growing a big love for Essie now :) I'm glad I got this vibrant orange colour because I actually don't have a shade like it. Perfect for summer and it's so cute cos it's the mini version (5mL)

3. Jurlique - Purely Age-Defying Ultra Firtm and Lift Cream
Full size: 50mL - $90
Now I know Jurlique is a high-end brand. But to be honest I've never really cared much for my skin in terms of using those skin care products that "lift" your face and all those anti-aging stuff. I've always stuck to moisturiser and I think that's all I'll ever use until I feel like I really really need to. So yeah, this is the one product in the box that I didn't have much interest in, so I'll probably pass it along.

4. Bio Oil
Full size: 60mL - $14.95 / 125mL - $24.95 / 200mL - $34.95
I received the 125mL bottle and I've heard of bio oil before and I've heard about the hype but I've never actually tried it out. It says that it's affective against scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tones. I don't really have any of those...maybe uneven skin tone. Maybe I might give it a go though.

5. Mirenesse 3D Forever Gloss - #5 Hot Kiss
Full size: 14g - $39.95
I first knew about this brand from IMATS and ABBW, and I knew they had really good products so I was exccited to see it in the box. At first I saw the gloss and I was like....I would never wear that colour. But when applied, it's a really nice dark plum red colour. Not sticky at all, super moisturising and has this yum lemony scent.

Other goodies packed into the box included yummy pack of hot pink jellybeans "packed for: glossy box", a voucher for 15% off Jurlique products storewide (which ends 30 Nov, which I find a little dumb because I got the box on the 28th?) and also a free offer for a gel liner from the facebook page of Mirenesse Cosmetics (for the first 500 people only).

So. Thoughts on the box overall?
Considering this box was super super delayed in shipping out, I expected it to be a big one to make up for time lost. And I guess they did because of the voucher and the free gel liner. I'm not gonna lie and I'm going to say that I was a little bit disappointed at first sight. I thought to myself...."I'm never going to use these products, what a waste."
But after reading the info sheet and everything, I realised I could put some use into these products and maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

So is it worth spending $14.95 every month?
Judging by this box...and other beauty sample boxes, I would say yes. It's a good collection of products. It can introduce you to new brands and next thing you know, you might not live without it :)
It's too early to decide if I want to keep going or cancel my subscription. You can cancel it at anytime! So I'll continue my subscription for next month and we'll see how it goes.

BYS - Beautifully Bare

A couple of days ago I visited the new Gloss Cosmetics store in QVB to check it out and I cam across these BYS polishes. There were soooo many!

To be honest, I was kind of put off BYS nail polish only because it was sold in RONI'S bankstown LOL and that's not the best store ever .... but I thought I'd give it another shot. There was just so many colours there and I didn't know what to get.

I ended up with 3 colours. A hot pink, a purple glitter and this shade that I'm going to show you today which is like a mushroomy taupe brown grey, greige if you wanna call it. That kinda colour. It's BYS - Beautifully Bare.

Each bottle is $4.95...which I guess is kinda cheap. But if I put it this way, China Glaze is only $6 near my place...and I trust China Glaze a lot more, so I guess I could just buy CG instead of BYS.

But having said that, this certain nail polish glided on gorgeously, opaque colour in just 2 coats, but I always do 3 nowadays.

Definitely more respect for BYS nail polishes now.

Getting used to it

I think I'm getting used to my dark hair now :)

Yesterday I finally tried out Holy Basil's famous fried ice cream. Too bad I was so so so full that I couldn't fully appreciate the yumminess of it. It was really nice. I just wish I didn't eat so much food before dessert :(

And my current nails!

I don't really know what to call them .... just stripey accent nails? I think it looks a little bit tribal but I dunno.

I used Ulta3 - Midnight Fever (navy blue) and China Glaze - Midnight Kiss (gold)

I used a thin nail brush (or you could use an old eyeliner brush) to draw on the lines. It's a lot wonkier on my right hand because I can't draw with my left.

I did a red and gold version of this and it reminded me of Chinese New Year hahaha. I'll post that up next year.

You could totally switch up the colours to suit the season, or mood. See what colours complement each other. You could even do the stripes in 2 colours, just alternate them :)

The only reason I'm selling it is because it doesn't curl right.... (well obviously cos it's a "straightener" hahaha). Silly me thought that buying a straightener could also curl my hair, cos I used to always do that. But turns out that this is pretty much only for straightening.
And it straightens beautifully, trust me :)

But since I already have super straight hair...I don't really need this and it'd be a waste to just leave it lying in my bedroom.

Brown to brown & photo updates

Just a bunch of updates and pics from my phone :) I don't have an iphone, otherwise this would just be an instagram post haha.

I recently dyed my hair again...and it went darker than I wanted it to.

It's still brown but its a lot darker and it's so different when I look down at the ends of my hair and I see an almost black instead of lighter brown, sniff. I guess it'd suit like a colder season, but right now it's spring, almost summer.

With dark hair I look a lot whiter. And with white skin, I gotta be careful with dark eye makeup cos then I just look really really goth-like. Scary.

I've tuned into an interest of what I like to call "grown up" watches. Hahaha. I currently have a swatch and now that I'm 20, I'd love to have these kinda watches, makes me feel much more mature than I feel like I am.

Rose gold is really popular, but I think I'm leaning towards white :)

I managed to finally get a coke can with my name!

Certain Westfield shopping centres have these coke stations set up (check their fb page for locations and times). I got this one at Burwood and the line wasn't that long. The whole process takes 5 seconds. The only long bit is waiting in line for a little bit.
All they do is type your chosen name into the computer, it prints out this red rectangle label and they stick it on the can. It's still cool though :) I decided not to drink it, but now it's just sitting pretty. Haha

Wearing Face Of Australia's - Knickers in a Knot. A gorgeous watermelon shade, perfect for your fingers or toes in the summer :)

A couple of weeks ago I went to Daiso in Chatswood. If you guys haven't heard about it, it's pretty much this japanese store that sells everything for $2.80. They sell so much stuff, from containers to stationery to make-up and pet stuff. It's pretty much a $2.80 version of Hot Dollar or Top Bargain.

I managed to get a few things, but I really wanna go back and have another look.

A square corkboard (30x30cm), make-up bag, nail deco and cute pair of chopsticks.

I also bought an extra make-up bag and nail decos for my giveaway later next month hehe.

I don't know why I even bought that nail sponge when a sponge at home works perfectly fine hahaha.

Ohhh and I managed to get a hold of one of my favourite lollies when I was a child.

Last week was the Kpop Concert held in Sydney. I didn't actually go because I didn't think I'd regret it because Big bang, 2PM and Super Junior weren't gonna be there. But as the date got closer and when 7pm rolled around on a Saturday night....just knowing that those kpop stars were only about 5 suburbs away, I couldn't resist and ended up driving to the stadium, to just listen to their songs.

I ended up getting there just before 930pm, and I could hear MBLAQ and all the fans screaming. I went with my cousin and I was like, "Okay, we'll walk around this stadium once and we'll go home."

So we started walking around listening to the music and the fans. We got around a quarter of the way around the stadium and saw this guy just sitting right up against the barrier and looking inside. So we made our way towards the guy and realised why he was sitting there.

Through the barrier you could see the stadium and through gap of the stadium, we could see the screen!

It was so cool cos C.N. Blue was beginning to play and omg, seriously guys, I was like smitten. I could see JUNG YONG HWA in perfect view on the big screen, and boy was he looking mighty fineeeee.

I first knew him from the drama "You're Beautiful" which is one of my fave dramas of all time after "Goong". He was so good looking in that drama and I fell for his charm. Then I realised he was the lead singer in C.N. Blue and that's how I got to know him more.

The past few days all I've been listening to is C.N. Blue, seriously. LOL.

And I've been watching We Got Married with him and SeoHyun and I am absolutely smitten. His personality is so adorable! I just wanna cuddle him.

Anyway, so the concert ended at like 10pm, which I thought was suprising, but I'm so glad I got to see some of the concert. Can I just say that Changmin and Yunho are just so damn good looking?

I went to sleep happy that night.

Right now I'm listening to C.N. Blue - Love Girl hehehe.

China Glaze - Awakening

Was browsing through my fave nail polish place (ProNail Supply located in Bankstown) and I came across this lone bottle among the China Glaze racks. It just stood out to me because of the gorgeous colour. It's kinda like a duochrome. A metallic purpley pink mix with gold tinge. With shimmer. As I'm looking at my fingers, I'm trying to see what colour it is, and it's just so hard to describe. I wouldn't even call it pink actually. Ah, I don't know.

It's really such an amazing shade and I knew I had to grab it. When it comes to describing this colour, the first word I think of is Royal. You know, how royal is kinda like purple and gold? Let the pictures show you :) Camera can't capture the awesomeness, but I tried my best.

Don't get confused with this colour from the China Glaze 2010 Awakening Collection.. cos it's actually not from that halloween collection at all.

I personally think this colour looks great on shorter nails. I tried this colour on my longer nails and it didn't look as good. Made me feel like an old lady hahah. Shorter nails make all the difference guys :)

I also managed to grab the popular Seche Vite topcoat ($8) and a new base coat from Essie ($6). It's my first time using Essie base coat, so far so good. I used to use NailTek Ridge Filling Base Coat, but it ran out.

And the top coat is so cool! It literally dries my nails super fast, and I usually paint my nails before I go bed, so with this fast drying top coat, I don't have to worry about smudging it at night :)

Think of a nail base coat like a face or eye primer. It helps adhere to the nail better, and makes the colour stand out. It also helps prevent yellowing on your nails :)

My full name is Theresa (won't say my last in case some freako is stalking me LOL). My nickname is Tezza, it's not my real name haha. I'm 20 years old! Dayumm. Dw I only just turned 20. I'm young 20 ;)

2. What are your hobbies?

I'm always following some kind of tv show. Right now I'm following America's Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Secret Circle etc etc. I can't wait until Pretty Little Liars comes back in January! It's keeping me on the edge on my seat not knowing who A is.

And if the shows are on break, I'm reading books :) I love crime thrillers, like those by James Patterson. He is an AMAZING writer! But I also like those cheesy romantic ones, like ones by Nicholas Sparks. He's amazing too. I always seem to cry in his books. Always.

3. What's your style like? Who/what inspires you?

I don't really have a style actually. Some days I just wear a tee and shorts and others I wear tights and a cardigan. I'm hardly a jeans kind of girl, I wear what I think looks best on me :)

4. Best fashion/beauty tip?

Dry shampoo is my saviour!!!! I'm so glad I got to know about this product, cos it really saves yourself from that yucky flat oily hair. And it kinda gives you a little volume too, and I love to clip my bangs up, so dry shampoo really helps me with that on my lazy days.

5. One thing that you can not live without? And I don't mean air, food or your boyfriend!

I know it might seem like yeah...but I don't think I can live without social networking or the internet....honestly. LOL. I check my email constantly, twitter, fb, sometimes tumblr and without the internet, there'd be no online shopping!

6. Celebrity crush? Why?

I think everyone who knows me personally knows that I LOVE LOVE LOVE BIG BANG. To death. I love every single one of them equally. 5 amazing boys. I first got into these boys back in 2006, just when they debuted. So I'm been in a long term relationship with my babies. I love their songs, their voices, their styles. I love everything about them! GDragon was the one I first fell in love with, and I still do! But the other boys are just so epic that I can't leave them out :)

Hmmm...I'd probably be a cute little puppy or bunny rabbit cos then I would be someone's best friend and be loved hehe.

9. Most embarrassing/scariest thing that happened to you?

There's been so many that I don't really remember. I remember one time I was at my uncles house and my mum thought I was going home with my dad but my dad thought I was going home with my mum cos I went inside the house to get something...when I got outside, I could see my dad's truck already leaving and I ran all along the street screaming out to my dad. I was young at the time. I was so scared and sad that he'd forgot about me and leave me here. It was nighttime too. Was really scary :( But in the end he heard me scream and turned back to get me. Sniff.

Oh yeah and any moment with cockroaches is freaking scary OKAY. Even if its 10m away from me. THEY ARE SCARY CREATURES.

And the other day I stacked it at work. Really embarrassing LOL.

10. Biggest regret? Please don't say, "I don't regret anything because it made me who I am today".

Probably uni. I'd go back and study harder. Seriously.

NYX Doll Eyes Mascara

Hey guys! :)

I'm gonna show you guys my latest love love loveeeee. It's NYX Doll Eyes Mascara. I got this from my recent Cherry Culture haul last week. If you haven't read about it, check it out here.

I first read about this mascara from Everyday Makeup Blog and from then, I knew I had to get my hands on it. It took me a while, but I finally got around to it because I took advantage of the 20% sale.

My pictures really dont do any justice to how much I like this mascara. But I do hope you get the gist that this mascara is really amazing. Check out other reviews, trust me.

The brush has an hour glass shape. I'm no expert on brush shapes of mascaras, so I have no idea if that shape is better or not compared to others haha.

The formula is quite dry, but not crazy overwhelmingly dry. I prefer dry formula mascaras anyway because since I have short sparse lashes, they tend to weigh down on my lashes and can't hold the curl :(

When I first applied this mascara on my lashes, I was so amazed. It was like they brought my lashes to life! Definitely lengthened and voluminised. I found that after a few coats, when I went back after a few mins for an extra coat, my lashes were already dry, and made it hard for another coat. So if you coat your lashes many times, do it all on one eye first and then go to the other eye. Or maybe that's just the waterproof version.

This mascara definitely held my curl all day and stays put on your lash for a long time. The only time I found it flaky was when I was removing it with eye make-up remover but that's okay since I think I have the waterproof version, and plus, you're removing it anyway, so it doesn't matter if it flakes or not haha.

In summary

The good:

- Voluminises and lengthens your lashes

- Dry formula helps hold the curl and adhere to your lashes better

- Reasonable price at $9 at CC :)

The bad:

- Nothing much really haha. I do find it a little hard to remove, but only because I think it's waterproof.

OOTD - Maroon wrap dress

I haven't had an OOTD post in ages! Only cos I always wear the same thing out and about everywhere haha. And I haven't shown my face in a while n_n"

I bought this dress at Glassons quite a while ago actually but never had an event to pull it out. It was on sale for $20 :) It's kinda like a wrap drapey dress but its not loose or anything, its sewed on so it's not like the dress is gonna like open apart..........that'd be pretty scary.

But I really like the colour and I think it makes my skin stand out, since I'm soooo white. Especially my arms omg lol.

We ate at the Parramatta Firehouse and their seafood pizza is SO YUMMY

Cherry Culture Haul - NYX + Milani

I love getting mail and I recently got my Cherry Culture package in, yay! I love it when Cherry Culture has sales because it's just sooo cheap and I've ordered off Cherry Culture before, no hassles at all :)

So I ordered when they had a 20% sale, which happens every now and then ;)

The total came up to:

I paid an extra $6~ for shipping because I didn't wanna risk losing it :(

So the things I got:

Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil - Black

It was such a pain opening it... I couldn't make the lid budge at all. Had to call in for extra help in the form of my dad and he had trouble too, but in the end he got it out and this is what happened, which I was fearful of:

The perfectly sharpened tip broke off :(

But that's okay cos I resharpened it (with a normal size sharpener) and it's as good as new

The consistency is so great, it's creamy like a gel liner but easy to control like a pencil. It glides on perfectly with a light hand! Great great pigmentation.

It barely smudges with water! Yay :)

NYX Rouge Cream Blush - "Natural"

I got this blush because:

1. I've never tried a cream blush before

2. Gorgeous Jenny showed that she's almost hit pan!

So I was like, "Dayummm, I think I'm missing out!" So I went and copied her and got one for myself hehehe. I must say I'm impressed! It's creamy and light, not that thick, and I really do like the colour.

At first sight, it looked like a bubblegum pink, but once blended out, it gives this super cute pink glow!

I just wanted to show you what it looks like when you use it, you can tell that it's super creamy! :)

I love this blush! Can't wait to use it and attempt to hit pan...I'll let you guys know~

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss

"Perfect" & "Natural"

I'm not really a lip gloss kinda girl, honestly. I'm always a lip balm girl because I believe it does the same effect, and still gives me a natural sheen on my lips. But I've heard so many good things about these lipglosses that I can't help myself! I had such a hard time picking out what colours I should get cos there's just sooo many colours. I ended up with just some nude glosses.

I looked up swatches of "Perfect" and the colour looked nice, but I didn't realise it was shimmer! Not a big fan of shimmer lip glosses, but suprisingly it's not that bad.

These lip glosses have a cherry scent, which isn't too overpowering, but I woulda preferred strawberry or something LOL.

NYX Doll Eye Mascara - "Waterproof Extreme Black"

Okay, can I just say...I think I just found my HG mascara. Right here. I tried it for a little bit on my lashes, and I was so amazed! I have really short, sparse lashes that I have a hard time wearing mascara because it hardly shows up no matter how much I put :( So I just skip it altogether.

But now that I've found this....I think I'm just gonna buy it over and over and over. Until I find a better one. But I LOVE THIS!

I'll leave this review and more pictures for another post, but seriously guys, I'm so happy I got it. It's $6.50!

MAC Blushes - "Pinch Me" and "Buff"

HAPPY NOVEMBER! :)

Today I wanted to show you guys my latest MAC purchase. I'm definitely a drugstore make-up kinda person (as you Americans like to call it). I hardly ever buy MAC makeup. And if I do, it'd probably have to be on sale :P The only other MAC product I have is the gel liner, but I bought that aaaages ago. I've moved onto liquid liner for now.

So when Catchoftheday's infamous make-up sale came back, I popped online and saw that they had a big collection of blushes on sale for $20AUD each (RRP $41AUD), I thought I'd grab some. Why not right? :) I was looking up swatches so fast cos I thought the blushes were gonna sell out really fast (as MAC always does on COTD). So here I was typing in all the names of the blushes on the site into google, looking up the colours and swatches. I know I wanted a peachy blush, cos I actually don't own any. Most of my blushes are pink/mauve.

Anyway, so after repeatedly looking up these swatches all by different people, I finally settled on Pinch Me and Buff.

When I received them, they actually looked pretty similar. Pinch Me looked a little more dark orangey side, but it's a sheertone blush, so I thought that I could build it up naturally.

Buff is matte and definitely looks peachy to me.

When swatched on the fingers, Buff came up more lighter and Pinch Me.

But when swatched on my arm, they looked pretty similar.

Buff (matte) is more orangey.

Pinch Me (sheertone) is a little more reddish.

Even though these colours are pretty similar, I still like them both. I can imagine Buff as almost like a light bronzer or contour, to sculpt my cheeks in the summer without having bronzer shimmer.

And Pinch Me looks like a nice natural flush to the cheeks.

Overall, I like the pigmentation and consistency of these blushes and would definitely be repurchasing other colours :)

Hey guys, I know, long time no see! Just been a bit preoccupied with studying for my final exams and so I haven't been doing my nails much. I'm always thinking of new ideas and inspirations so don't worry, after all my exams are over, I'll be back doing pretty nails again yay!

I just wanted to post this up for the local girls here in Australia. Big W is having a really good make-up sale with discounts on lots of the big make-up brands like Revlon, Maybelline, Covergirl, etc etc.

But yeah its like $5 off Maybelline, $10 off Revlon and more! Revlon was pretty cheap like their lipsticks were going for almost $12 which is pretty cheap for the usual price of $22.

I'm not the person to collect a lot of things of a particular product. Except maybe blush haha. I'm pretty content if I have like, one moisturiser, one mascara, etc etc. I don't really feel the need to just buy a lot of different brands of the same product. I guess that's what holds me back when I'm buying make-up.

I figured I didn't have a face primer yet, and since it's warmer weather coming up, I thought a face primer would help the make-up last longer and maybe not melt on my face or something haha. With that, I also bought a tinted moisturiser, which suprisingly I don't own.

My make-up routine involves me putting moisturiser one first and then whatever foundation. I guess in a way, the moisturiser is my base, which I'm not sure is actually good for your face/make-up but I've done it for that way for ages now and I don't really have a problem with it.

ANYWAY!

So I got the primer and tinted moisturiser - both from Face Of Australia. Gosh, I love this brand <3 So so affordable. Their products were $3 off. I should've grabbed an extra make-up remover cos it was selling for just over $5! MY HG!!!

And then I saw the Australis products. Saw the tag for their nail polish remover for 97c!! Shoulda took a pic of the tag, but there were none left. I would've got it haha.

But the 3 in 1 make-up wipes were selling for just under $2 ($1.94) so I grabbed the last two hehe.

I've actually got ordered online for more make-up in the past week LOL. I placed an order for 2 MAC blushes on Catchoftheday and a Cherry Culture order too cos it was 25% off storewide hehehe..

I really reaaaaaally want a puppy :( But my parents won't let. I just want something fluffy, a guinea pig, a rabbit. Just something that I can go home to and hug and know that they'll be waiting for me <3

Sounds so .. sad. But yeah I really want a pet lol :(

Glitter Gradient / Galaxy Nails

Hiiiiii~

This is my first time attempting a gradient on my nails :) The purple and blue really complement each other and I thought it faded out nicely. At first I was planning to layer the blue on top of the purple as you can see on my ring finger, but then I thought I'd gradually play it out on my fingers. I didn't use any tools to make it fade out ... I just used the brush of the blue nail polish and just used less polish as I went inwards.

You probably can't see the purple..it looks more blue on my screen, but in real life, the gradient was more visible.

I used 3 coats China Glaze - C-C-Courage (purple)

Then on top - China Glaze - Dorothy Who (blue)

And for the finishing touch, China Glaze - Fairy Dust for the extra sparkle :)

It kinda looks like a galaxy...but I think for it to be more intergalactic, I'd probably have to add little silver stars or crater meteor things. But I like how it turned out!

Eh...two similar pictures I know haha, but one's further away! That counts as a diff photo LOL.

My Make-up Storage

Sorry I didn't get around to posting this earlier so you guys could grab the bargain too ... it just slipped my mind! Sorry guys :(

I actually never originally wanted a make-up organiser. My $2.50 kitchen utensils plastic holder did that just fine...LOL.

But I was in Target and I was just looking at storage boxes, you know, like those little tiny set of 3 drawers for your makeup table. And I came across these make-up organisers. I was like, "Ooooh those look gooood" and I grabbed one and went to the price scanner thingy and it scanned up like I think $12 or something. And I thought that was a bargain. So I grabbed the other 6 compartment organiser and scanned it and it came up at $6? I'm not sure.

But I do know that I grabbed the both of them for about $18! WIN!

I went home and ebayed make-up organisers and the exact same one like mine was selling for more than $30 .... like um no thanks.

So happy I got these. I love how its clear :)

This was my make-up space BEFORE. I hardly clean up after myself when I get ready in the mornings cos I'm already late as it is haha. So yeah I just dump everything, leave it there until I come home, sweep things aside for the next morning and then it just repeats.

See my $2.50 white kitchen utensil holder on the left? Holds my brushes and eyeliners and things.

The green boxes I got from some discount store, Top Bargain, I think. Set of 3 for $2, $3? Something like that.

Lightning bolt nails

Hiiiii!

Today's post will be showing you my current nails, the lightning bolt. I saw a photo of them on tumblr, which linked me back to nailside. She does amazing nail designs that are complete with pictures and instructions!

For these nails, you have to have a lot of patience for the nail to dry...otherwise the nail polish would still be attached partly to your nail and partly to the sticky tape and there won't be a clean line. I wasn't patient and I had to full fix up my nails...

Unless you use a fast drying top coat, like what nailside said, but I don't have access to Seche Vite so yeah :(

I kinda got excited and impatient so I forgot to take pictures in between haha.

Here's my attempt!

The base colour I'm using is Face Of Australia - Minty Mojito.

Next cut triangle pieces of tape. You just cut squares of tape and cut them diagonally in half :)

Then stick the tapes as according to the picture. Black and pink lines show the two triangle shaped tapes I used to place on my finger.

After that you paint the white colour on top. Wait for it to dry, then repeat the process and apply the tip colour. I used China Glaze - Agent Lavender.

Final outcome:

You know, alernatively, instead of having to wait for the white nail polish to dry .... just put the purple one instead and if you have a steady hand, just line the bolt shape with a thin nail polish brush ;) I think that's much easier. But if you're looking for a cleaner cut, probably just do the taping twice.

Took this whilst I was watching SBS Pop Asia! The asian version of Video Hits hahaha. Love waking up to it!

Hi guys, I remember I did this post sometime last year .. and well I just thought I'd update! :)

I don't carry a make-up bag with me around...just cos I feel really self conscious if I were to apply my make-up on the train or in a public bathroom. But that's just me haha.

My bag is from Rubi :) It's such a good bag, it's soft and it's pretty much my carry all :) It comes in black too but I have waaaaay too many black bags. I wish I found the one in the cream colour though.

I love how it has so many compartments! Front zipper and pocket and on the side too! Epic storage.

What's in my bag?

1. Water Bottle

Of course you need a water bottle in your bag!!!! I drink heaps of water every day...I think that's why my bladder is super weak haha.

I got this from ABBW, smells really good and does the job! Has moisturising properties too, win!

I love love love Nicholas Sparks. He is an amazing writer and in EVERY single book that I've read of his so far, I've cried. :( I just finished this book actually, and it's so sad! All his books are sad, sniff. I watched the movie after, and it left out so many parts. But the movie made me cry too. Waaa, I'm such an emotional person, haha.

5. Headphones

Can never ever leave the house without it. I personally am not a big fan of in-ear headphones, but that's the only working ones I got atm, out of the 4 pairs I have, heh.

6. Mimco pouch

Ah, I love this little baby! I got this early last month I think. It's black patent - rose gold. Big thanks to Kristy, for her help on getting this yay! Fits my important cards, and notes and coins perfectly. Too bad my phones too big for it :( Well, technically I can fit my phone cos it's so thin but the only way it can fit is if I don't have a case on it haha.

Love mints, they keep your mouth fresh :D And these give you that freshness that I like. And I like blue. That's the best one out of all of them.

Again, I thought I would be receiving a black coloured liner. But to my surprise I got a nice purple! I've been eyeing MAC's Macroviolet gel liner for a while, and was tempted to get their limited edition Ash Violet. Lucky I got a hold of this purple liner. It's smooth and pigmented. Thumbs up for this baby.

3. Vibralash 24hr Mascara RRP $49.95

Remember watching that vid where you vib-er-rate your head? LOL, I feel mean. But here's the link if you wanna watch here.

I've never tried a vibrating mascara before. There's a button at the base of the wand and has 3 speed settings to achieve maximum impact lashes. And because of its water based formula, it claims that its so safe, you can even sleep in it! :O

You know what I'm gonna try that tonight and get back to you guys haha.

4. Viva Eternal Gloss RRP $24.95

I got this in the shade Gypsy Rose, which is the darkest colour in the shades available. It's a mineral gloss that's pigmented, and not sticky :) It's like a sultry shade, deep mauvy rose. Like!

5. Invisible Fill Makeup RRP $59.90

Save the best til last :) Although I have only tried it out on my hand, I am amazed at this little package. They say its a primer but can also be used alone, under or over foundation. Personally, with this little baby, I can see myself just using it alone.

The formula is so amazing, it comes out as a cream when you squeeze the bottle and the sponge there buffs it all out and turns it into this fine silky powder, leaving your skin looking flawless and feeling so so soft.

The great thing about this is the Adaptive Universal Colour, which means it can adapt to ANY skin tone! When I first squeezed a little out of the bottle, I thought the shade was a bit dark for my liking, but once I tried it on my hand and on that little section, it blended out so perfectly that I couldn't even tell that I had applied it there and my hand felt so soft. Like how finely pressed powder feels, you know?

Oh and another awesome thing about this is there's a cute little mirror on the bottom of the lid! So cute :)

The only downside to this, would probably be the scent. It might be a bit overpowering for some and I can't put my finger on it to what it might smell like. But they assure us that it's free from paraben/alcohol/talc so that's a good thing :)

I don't think I'd be using the sponge a lot .. since if you'd use it on your face alot, there'd be heaps of bacteria and unknown stuff there...but you know what the cool thing is? It's totally detachable! You can just squeeze the product on the back of your hand or directly on your preferred face brush and apply away! Genius! I think that means you can wash the spongey thing too.

This box was filled with such amaaaazing products! I'm glad I got to know Mirenesse products because now I realise why they're award-winning products. From what I've tried here, I know how high of a quality they are and I would definitely recommend these products to you guys!

Fish and chip cravings

The other day, it was a quiet afternoon, we were craving fish and chips and wanted to go for a drive, so where else to go but down to the beach? We ended up at Cronulla. It was a little over a half hour car trip but it was worth it. I haven't been to the beach in so long, it felt so good to be there and take it all in.

All the beach houses/apartments were so gorgeous. I'd love to live near a beach, there'd be no excuse NOT to go exercising :P

I was admiring the ocean and saw this little boat right in the distance and I just think to myself that the boat is gonna topple over and fall over the edge, haha. Amazing how our world is round.

Fish and chips from Southern Beach Seafoods. Really yummy! Definitely recommend :)

Face Of Australia Favourites (Face)

Onto face products.

I've been using Missha's BB cream for a few months now. I decided to switch my foundation and try this.

It's medium to full coverage so you can build it up to conceal any dark circles or blemishes and what not. It's SPF 15 which is good, not too much SPF...but hey it's better than nothing!

Lasting Looks Natural Foundation - Natural Beige

When I first swatched it on my hand, it looked pretty dark to me. I believe this only comes in 4 shades. And this is the second lightest.

But once I applied it on my face and blended it out, it actually suits my skin tone well.

I know it's long lasting because I always squeeze foundation on my hand first and then use a brush to apply, and when I finish the product, there's still a little kinda mark there so I gotta remove it with makeup remover to get rid of it haha. If you guys get what I mean :)

One thing I have to say that I don't like about this is the little foil covering that you gotta remove before you can dispense it through the tube thing. Some foils are easy to peel and get rid of. But this little baby took me forever to get rid of the cover.

At first I just tried peeling it normally with my fingers but that soon turned into me resorting to using my tweezers to try peel it back and that didn't do much better. So i ended up just fully poking into the foil and then peeling it back like a banana...except I don't remove the foil. It doesn't rip properly.

But yeaaaaa that's the only bad thing dw! :)

I use this powder to mattify my face, especially around my T zone and along the tops of my cheeks :)

LOVE! And it's translucent too! So you won't look cakey and thick.

I was eyeing this product for literally months all throughout autumn/winter and I don't know, I didn't purchase it because I didn't think I really needed it and I was also a bit iffy about the shimmer.

But now that it's spring/summer and was included in the FOA goodie bag, I have no excuse NOT to use it! The mutlicolour balls in the product not only look pretty but when applied on your face, doesn't make you look like a disco ball fairy at all! It's got a nice sheen and gives your face a nice glow :)

I'm not a big fan of the brush to be honest. It's a little bit hard, So I don't use the brush at all. i just use a domed blush blush and apply it to the tops of my cheeks, up and down my nose and a little on my cupids bow :)

I tried to swatch it but the picture didn't come up properly :(

Mineral Therapy Blush - Sheer Mauve

$12.95

A smaller size but similar looking to the illuminating pearls is the mineral blush. It comes in 3 shades. I think Sheer Mauve looks the most natural anyway. I like the dusty pink blushes rather than coral or pinkish blushes just because I think it looks a lot more natural and more leaning towards a contour but with a hint of colour. That's just my preference though.

One thing I am a little confused about is the holey concept. I much prefer blushes in a compact powder form. I just feel that with such finely milled powder and big holes, a lot goes to waste.

And am I supposed to open it then tap it on the side gently for the powder to come up? Or am I supposed to tilt it upside down quickly and then open it up and use it?

Not too sure of the procedure but when applied on my face, it really does give a natural effect. It's sheer but buildable, so you can never go wrong!

Really dig this :)

Last but not least, a definite favourite.

Purifying Cleansing Wipes

25 wipes for just under $5 = just under 20 cents for each wipe. 20c is SO worth a sheet of these wipes. They're so good at removing all your makeup, even your eyes! Although I recommend using the actual eye makeup remover if you have heavy eye makeup. This removes your foundation and lipstick as well. It doesn't leave your face dry and I had no sensitive reaction whilst using it. Smell isn't overpowering either.

I guess these wipes are a lazy way to remove your makeup when you can't be bothered going to the bathroom to cleanse and wash your face. :P

Actually, I think these are great for even freshening up your face even if you're not wearing any makeup on those hot humid days.

Definite a love love love product.

I'm so glad I discovered all these fantastic Face Of Australia products because they work so well and are just so so afforable! And a little product goes a long way too :)

Face Of Australia Favourites (Eye)

Face of Australia. Where do I start? I knew this brand existed from the many times I walked into Priceline and seeing it, but never took notice of it. Probably because back then I wasn't really into makeup, and also since it wasn't a well-known brand.

Now it's one of the brands that I always seem to stop at and look at whats on offer.

I can't believe I didn't discover this brand earlier! Their products are fantastic quality and so so affordableeeee.

I use Face of Australia products everyday, pretty much. I switched my BB cream to try out their foundation, and I LOVE it so far. I use the blush and illuminator AND eyeliner AND the makeup remover too! Complete face, thanks to FOA :)

And also thanks to FOA for gifting us with lovely goodies from ABBW!

The first thing I purchased from the Face Of Australia range a few months ago was their Gentle Make-up Remover and their nail polishes. It was a part of Priceline's get 3 for the price of 2. I got the make-up remover and two polishes which I blogged about previously here.

I've tried a few make-up removers in the past. The blue Loreal Gentle Makeup Remover, and the Almay one. I liked how the Loreal one removed all my makeup but I don't know if it was just me, but it had like the oil residue...and I always had to use a dry cotton ball to clean up further afterwards.

Ever since using it since June, I'm pleased to say that this Face of Australia Gentle Make-Up Remover is my HG remover. Hands down! It removes your makeup cleanly and leaves NO oil residue at all. And it removes my eye makeup so well without any stinging or tingling. This makeup remover is SOOO good.

The price? Even better. $8.95. SO CHEAP!!!

As you can see, I've been using it for around 4 months, and there's still quite a bit left :)

Next up is the eyeshadow quad. I'm not much of an eyeshadow girl to be honest, because there's pretty much no point in wearing eyeshadow to uni. But this neutral palette with a pop of gold makes your eyes still look natural but shine! If that makes sense....I've used the quad a few times, but I'm yet to capture a FOTD just because I can never capture my EOTD with any of my cameras...it just looks a lot better in real life. Trust me on this.

Remember the FOA liquid eyeliner I bought a few months ago? And I said I didn't really like it because the brush was super thin, and I wasn't used to it?

Take that allllll back.

I LOVE IT.

$8.95 worth of goodness.

The first time I used it, I experienced stinging on my top of my eyes, on my upper lash line. It hurt to the point I had to squeeze my eyes shut and remove the eyeliner straight away right after I applied it.

But now, I'm used to the way the brush moves along the top of my eyes. It's long lasting, doesn't smudge. However it is NOT waterproof. It easily rubs away with water. So girls, if you're gonna cry, don't wear this eyeliner haha.

So glad I have a backup now thanks to FOA @ ABBW yay!

One more thing I forgot to take a photo of...

The Mechanical Eyeliner. It's a crayon. Which I like!

I remember using the Revlon Colorstay one, and that worked really well for me until it ran out and I never got around to buying another black pencil/crayon liner.

I use this to tightline my eyes on my upper lash line to create fuller looking lashes and it does me wonders :) I experienced minimal smudging and I reckon this could even replace my liquid liner on my upper lash line on those lazy days.

Pastel Ombre Nails with Roses

Gooooooooooood evening my lovelys :)

First of all, I just wanted to say how happy I am to see that I've hit 300 followers waaaa :') I never imagined how my blog would even reach so many of you guys out there and I'm glad I'm a part of your daily reading, which motivates me to blog even more, promise!

Anywaaaaays so today I'm gonna be showing you one of my recent manicures. I think many of you would probably know the dilemma of staring into your nail polish collection and having NO IDEA what colour to paint it! And most of you guys would have similar colours right? :P

The solution? OMBRE NAILS!

Ombre nails is just a graduation fade of colour on your nails, from light to dark. It doesn't have to be the same shade, but similar tones would work too :) So you could go for different shades of pink from light to dark or you could go for pastel colours from light to dark, like I did with mine.

I think the blue either on my thumb or index finger ruined the gradual fade, but hey I worked with I got, and I think it looks okay :)

The colours L to R:

Essie - St Barth's Blue (3-4 coats because it's super sheer)

China Glaze - Agent Lavender (2 coats)

China Glaze - Light As Air (2 coats)

Ulta3 - Natural Spring (3 coats)

Ulta3 - Allure (3 coats)

The roses of my accent finger and dead easy to do, trust me. From far away it looks nice, but if you look up close, it's just a messy swirl of colours hahaha.

I used a dotting tool to roughly dot Ulta3 - Pina Colada on random spots. Doesn't have to be perfect circles, cos they're roses :)

Then I waited just a little bit for it to dry. I didn't let it dry too much cos then thats when I took a thin brush (I just used an old fine tipped eyeliner brush that I don't use anymore) and applied Ulta3 - Lily White in the middle then drew in little C shapes then mixed it around to give that swirly look. For the leaves, I just used Face Of Australia - Minty Mojito (blogged here) with the same fine tipped brush.

Wait for it all to dry completely and apply top coat yay!

Hahaha, it looks so bad up close, but it's really cute on your nails!

And best of all it doesn't have to be perfect, there's no right or wrong way to do it! Even if it looks messy, I reckon you could still get away with such cute roses hehe.

It's labour day tmrw! I'm not working tmrw so that's really good. Even though its like double pay ... but whatever! I like my sleeping in, thank you very much.

ABBW Part 2

IMATS was only a small part of the Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend, we had many talkers over the two days from Beauty Directory, Alpha HQ, Face Of Australia and Rescu. Dinner with Maxted Thomas and tons of sponsors including Nivea, Remington, Burts Bees, ORLY, Dove, Garnier, Australis... the list goes on!

The weekend was so informative and really opened my eyes into what beauty blogging was all about, and how you can take your blog further and make a "brand" for your blog and have relationships with PRs. So much information with such amazing speakers like the creator of Alpha-H and their amazing product Liquid Gold, editor of InStyle magazine and a Face Of Australia masterclass, learning the tips and tricks on how to apply make up.

Dinner was sponsored courtesy of Maxted Thomas at the Establishment Hotel near Wynyard. Unforunately I couldn't attend because I wasn't feeling too well, but I heard the dinner was amazing and more speakers from brands like Nivea, Remington, Burts Bees, ORLY was there :)

Oh when Day 1 ended, before the Dinner event, we were each gifted with heaps of goodie bags for us to take home. Oh my gosh guys, it was so so heavy. I didn't expect to receive so manny fantastic products, they spoiled us silly!

ABBW Part 1: IMATS

Hey girls (and guys :P)

I apologise for this delayed post, I'm kinda still recovering from the AMAZING weekend I had at the first ever Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend where 85 beauty bloggers all around Australia came together in Sydney for a fun-filled weekend on all things beauty!

Luckily for me, it was held in Sydney so I knew I didn't have an excuse NOT to come to an event like this :) I was first informed of the event on twitter where one of my beauty blogger friends, Tram, told me to register for this beauty event held in Sydney! So I registered, with the thought in mind that hey, its beauty related AND its in Sydney, so why not? Glad I did register before it closed because I was guaranteed a spot, yay! :)

Thatttt was all the way back in May/June? Months and months went by and next thing you know its September 24! All during those months I read updates on what the event was going to be like, what sponsors/speakers were going to be associated with ABBW and as the days went by, the more excited I got!

The weekend of 24/25 was a wet and windy one unfortunately, but that didn't dampen our spirits! I met up with Tram and Alice, both gorgeous beauty bloggers and we made our way to Darling Harbour in search of Novotel Hotel to register and also where most of the events were going to be held. It took us a while to figure out the entrance of Novotel since we entered in at the back of the hotel, but we got there eventually and were greeted with Jacie and Kimmi, the awesome organisers of ABBW that brought the event altogether seamlessly :)

Jacie has the most amazing nail swatches! Her nails are so so pretty, perfectly shaped and amaaazing application of nail polish no matter WHAT the consistency. Kimmi's blog talks about anything and everything beauty related, and her posts are always so detailed and informative :)

At registration, we were provided with our own lanyards and imats/abbw passes with our blogs on it yay!

So after we registered at 8ish on Saturday morning, the girls and I headed back to Sydney Convention Centre to get ready for IMATS (International Make-Up Trade Show) where lots of make up brands come and showcase their products and sell at a cheaper price than in store. Luckily for us ABBW attendees, our IMATS tickets were already paid for! I think if you wanted to buy a ticket for one day, it cost $40-$45? That's if you dont buy it presale. Pre sale tickets are only $30/day so you can totally save your money for other things like make up ;)

Before entering the doors, people kindly offered us an IMATS bag to hold our goodies, and also a booklet informing us of what products from what stalls were on offer and what to check out

It was only 9am in the morning and the stalls were already filling up quick. Especially Make Up Forever and MAC. Wow some girls were just so KEEN! I wanted to get a hold of the Macroviolet Fluidline from MAC but they sold out :( Crown brushes were so so cheap! The lines at most of the bigger brand name stalls were just so crazy, there was no line system and everyone tried to push in to get what they wanted. Make Up Forever took so long because people bought a lot and the sales assistants were manually writing out receipts, it took forever!

The view from the top! Alice and I were trying to find the Royal & Langnickel Suite for ABBW'ers because there was free manicures and complimentary morning tea there especially for us yay hehe. We went up the wrong set of stairs and so I took this from the top. As we were about to make our way down, I bumped into Shizuka from heartofpearl cos she went up the wrong set of stairs like us haha Ah, she's so pretty! :) Unfortunately I didn't get a pic with her :(

As we were leaving the suite, the guys gifted us with a set of their S.I.L.K GreenLine brushes yay! This is what it looks like on their site here hope you guys can see that! The brushes are so soft and amazing. I haven't used all their brushes yet. I've only used the blush brush and its soooo soft on your face and picks up product well. Full review most likely later....in a few weeks! Stay tuned for that, I'll post it up I promise!!

So we wandered around trying to see what there was to buy ... honestly I didn't buy that much things. I knew I wanted a new blush brush but I found that in the brush set we were gifted .. so I didn't feel the need of purchasing any more of those. I did pick up a retractable kabuki brush from Royal&Langnickel for $10. So so sooo soft! I can't stress enough how soft their brushes are!

Oooooh I also purchased a red lipstick. It's not red red...I chose a pretty pinkish red but it got sold out so I settled for this lipstick colour instead. I was worried it wouldn't suit my skin tone but the make up artist there told me that my skin tone was really versatile and that I could wear most colours. That surprised me actually. All this time I was worrying about warm and blue toned reds...not knowing what colour to settle on. I got it from Serge Louis Alvarez (SLA). I had never heard of the brand before in my life, but they were having a deal with lipsticks - 3 for $30 so me and Tram split it up. She got two and I got one.

It looks red but it's got a slight hot pink undertone. Swatches to come! It was too pretty to swatch!!! :(

The highlight of being at IMATS was meeting Elessa from PURSEBUZZ on youtube! :D

I remember Pursebuzz as one of the first people I ever watched on youtube because I watched her vid on "How to curl your hair with a straightener" yeaaars ago or some hair tutorial. I remember watching heaaaaaaps of her hair tutorials. She was like my idol back then haha, but then I stopped watching. Cos I think she stopped making vids for a while.. and I was out of touch with youtube for a bit too.

But when I met herI was literally starstruck. She's so friendly and nice and bubbly :) She gave us these cute pink sequinned headbands with pursebuzz on the inside! And she told us to tweet her the pic hehe and we did and she replied back to us! *feels special*

Taped/Lined Nails

YAY for another nail post!

I saw this picture on tumblr the other day and it totally inspired me to do it on my own nails. I thought it was really different and cool and relatively easy, providing you have the time and patience :)

So pretty!

I had trouble deciding on what colours to use, only that I wanted to use a metallic and a normal solid colour. I picked up Ulta3 - Envy because thats one of my fave metallic/foil finish polishes for $2 too! (or $2.25...)

Then I looked for a colour to match it. I didn't feel like going red so I jsut chose a coral pinky colour. Super pretty combo I think.

This was my first attempt. I started on my pinky and worked my way inwards. Obviously the pinky turned out ridiculous cos my tape was wayyyy too thick.

So I redid my pinky and my ring finger too cos I wasnt satisfied.

The tapes I used for one hand. HAHA. Needs to be super thin like 1-2mm for it to look good. But once you're on the middle finger, index or thumb you can make it a liiiiiiittle bit bigger. Or you could just mix and match thin and thick lines, whatever you think looks good!

I don't think it really matters what colour you paint first really, both would look fine :) I just painted two coats of the coral colour first. WAIT TIL IT DRIES!!!!!! You don't want your nail polish sticking to the tape.

Stick the tape in any way you want. There's no right or wrong. I used max 3 tapes for one finger. I think any more than that, wouldn't look good because of the thickness of the tape. I guess the smaller the thickness, the more tapes you can put on your finger .. if that makes sense. I'm such a bad worder :(

You can either do all the tapes at once or work on one finger at a time ... I recommend taping your fingers up all at the same time cos then you wouldnt smudge your newly painted fingers by putting on the tape or cutting up new ones or whatever.

Paint the second colour on top and then wait til that dries then all you gotta do it peel it off! Simpleeeee right :)

China Glaze - TTYL & Glam

I am so so soooooooo glad I have these two gorgeous colours to add to my nail polish collection!

TTYL is actually a colour from their OMG collection in 2008. I know, 3 years. But still, better late than never :) I'm not that type of girl who is always wants what's "in season". Just as long as what I have looks good. That includes clothes and accessories haha.

TTYL is a gorgeous light pink HOLOGRAPHIC shade that seriously is so darn gorgeous and amazing in the sun. I didn't actually get a chance to take a photo with it in natural sunlight, but with flash you can see all the epicness that this nail polish holds.

Its like a rainbow in your fingersssss!

I'm not sure how old Glam is, but it's still pretty nonetheless. I had trouble deciding on Dollhouse and Glam because they actually look really similar. They're both pink glitters but Dollhouse had more hexagonal and bigger shaped glitter pieces whereas Glam had smaller ones. In the end I chose Glam just cos I felt it looked better in the bottle haha. I went home and looked up swatches and I'm glad I chose Glam cos I think it looks a lot better, in my opinion :)

Here is what I did a few days ago with two coats of Glam on my ring finger.

Magic happens when you actually combine the two together. It's SO BEAUTIFUL!!! :')

Seriously I wish the camera could capture the wonderful holographic glitter combo. It's super super nice in real life. Just trust me on it!

I think this was 4 coats. And I know sometimes when you hear like anything more than 3 coats, you think its gonna be super thick and gluggy but 4 coats didn't even FEEL thick at all! I just wanted to keep piling on the glitter hahaha.

Got complimented a few times at work today hehehe.
