Layering Glitter Polishes

For me, I see gold nails for Christmas, and silver nails for the New Year! I know it's a bit early to do a manicure for New Years, but I couldn't hold myself back from trying out the new silver polishes I got from Gloss the other day.

As always, pictures can be clicked on for a bigger picture. You guys knew that right :)

In some pictures, you can see that my pinky finger is sheer. That's because I tried BYS - Disco Ball first, but then found it too be too sheer, so on the rest of my fingers, I painted 2-3 layers of OPI - Birthday Babe, followed by 2 coats of BYS - Disco Ball and then 2 coats of Revlon - Belle. All topped off with Seche Vite.

I know it sounds like a lot of layers, but these nail polishes had a thin consistency, so it wasn't bad at all :)

BYS - Disco Ball
OPI - Birthday Babe
Revlon - Belle

This was my other manicure last week...my nails were so short back then!
I was going to post this up before but I didn't really see it as pretty enough to blog haha

The glitter top coat I used was BYS - Diamond Glitter Slam, a gorgeous multi-glitter of purple, pink and rainbow silver. So pretty!

Base colour - Ulta3 - Envy
Top coat - China Glaze - Fairy Dust

Hope you guys enjoyed the post!

Boxing Day Shopping

Good evening.
I sound like the news LOL.

Anyway! Today I went and headed off to the city to catch the boxing day sales. I slept over my cousin's house and we left the house a bit after 8am. First stop, David Jones! I didn't see a line outside the front door, so I thought it was pretty quiet, but it was pretty busy inside.

The main thing I wanted to get was either a Longchamp bag or a Mimco. I headed off to Mimco and spotted this bag right on the edge all by itself and snatched it up, reading the tag as $225! (RRP $450). It was a Button Zip Top, which I didn't like as much as the Turnlock Zip Top, but it was still pretty AND SO CHEAP! I don't know why no one picked that up at like 9am in the morning haha, but hey I'll take it!
Further staff discount, lowers it to $180 (hehee)

After so long lusting after a Mimco, it's finally mine, yay!

That was pretty much my main purchase of the day, I was pretty satisfied with that to be honest, haha. But I did end up buying a few more little accessories and stuff.

Myer was so packed like seriously. There were LINES FOR THE ESCALATORS. D:
And I wanted to look at watches but people were so squished up the glass and not budging, so I was just like, OK WHATEVER. Most of them were like asian... (no suprise lol)

And some stores were SO COLD! They full blasted up their aircons, and it was literally a freezer inside. I couldn't even shop properly cos I was shivering so much. I had to go leave those shops cos I couldn't take it haha

Rubi Aviators - $7.50
(Staff discount)

Gonna leave these in the car and use them when I'm driving haha. I leave my other Ray Ban Wayfarers in my bag for when I go out :)

 Equip Stud Set + Necklace
$5 each

I don't know how many studs I keep buying cos I always end up losing all of them.

Revlon Nail Polish - Belle
BYS Nail Enamel - Disco Ball

Both $4.95 each

Silver! LOVE

Typo Birdcage - $14.98
(staff discount)

I don't know why I didn't buy this earlier to be honest. It's been in the store for so long and I only just bought it now???

Also grabbed this water bottle from Typo for $5 too heheh sales.

Received these books for Christmas. I love James Patterson!!!!!! I've read almost all his books seriously. Crime thrillers are the BEST books.

Had a Christmas BBQ at my cousin's yesterday. Good food, good company. I had lots of belly laughs and dnms with my cousins and cousin in law. The best people ever :)

Nom last minute chicken kebabs.

This Christmas and Boxing Day has been really fun and enjoyable.
Hope you guys had a fantastic holiday and I'm ready for the new year!
2012 is gonna be a good year, I can feel it :)

Sigma Travel Set - Nice in Pink

Sigma Beauty had an amazing Black Friday FREE SHIPPING deal last month and so many people flocked onto the website to take advantage of this deal, which resulted in a SUPER LAGGY DELAYED website. I held my composure and patience and finally (after about half an hour) managed to add this travel kit to my cart and checkout successfully.

Before the free shipping deal started, I had such a hard time figuring out what brushes to get. I knew I wanted an eye blending brush, but I didn't know which one. There was about 4 different eye blending brushes on the site....and I was just like, UM.
So I ended up youtubing some of my favourite beauty gurus on their make-up looks and sigma brushes reviews and with all that new information, I ended up settling on the Travel Set in Nice in Pink. I chose pink over black because I realised that the black version had a foundation brush...and I don't use foundation brushes anymore because of my F80 Flat Kabuki brush.

The kit ended up costing me $29 :) WOO!

It took just under a month to get here, but that's okay, considering it was free shipping after all. Plus, I'm used to buying all this stuff on ebay from Hong Kong and everyone knows how long THAT takes. HAHA.

Packaging was cute as usual, with a hot pink drawstring bag. Inside, full of goodies!
My travel set, important information cards, and not one but TWO free gifts :)
The first being a travel size foundation brush and the second was another blending brush. I was so so excited because I was having trouble deciding on which blending brush to get...the black E40 tapered blending, or the white E25 normal blending brush. So happy I have both now! ^_^

Free Gift #1

Free Gift #2

The travel kit. It has a magnetic closure.

F30 - Large Powder

F50 - Duo Fibre
(Perfect for my cream blushes :D)

F40 - Large Angled Contour
For my powder blushes and bronzers

Eye brushes
E70 - Concealer
E40 - Tapered blending
E30 - Pencil
E55 - Eye Shading

A total of 9 brushes for $29?
I'm pretty happy with that, even if it is travel size. I don't mind at all :)
This would seriously be the perfect set for me if I went travelling. That's all the brushes you need!

One thing I realised with the brushes is that there's Sigma engraved on all the ferrules of the brushes. It's a nice touch :)
Yeah, sorry for the crap photo, camera couldn't pick it up properly :(

I'm yet to wash them but I'll let you know if I experience any shedding. The brushes are soft at first touch and I'm excited to use them!

Glossybox AU - December 2011

Today my December Glossybox arrived! Today's the 20th...which is kind of late (again), as I thought they'd deliver it in the first half of December. But I like this month's glossybox compared to last month's here. I felt that I could use more items in this box rather than last month.

They gave us a free candy cane ^_^

TIGI HAIRCARE - Manipulator by BED HEAD
(Received full size product)
$23.95/57ml

I haven't really used any type of "fudge"/texturiser for my hair, but I'm keen on trying this out for volume, since I have really flat, thin, straight hair. Smells really nice, and the consistency is kind of thick at first sight, but we'll see how it goes.

GORGEOUS COSMETICS - Lip Pencils - in Scarlette
(Pretty sure this is a full size product)
$25 each

I don't really actually even own a lip pencil to be honest, because I hardly ever wear lipstick! But I'm glad I have this now, because it's a red shade that can be easily matched with lots of red lipsticks :)

CALVIN KLEIN - Forbidden Euphoria
(Received sample size)
$90/50mL
$120/100mL

When I first opened the box, this scent hit me, and it smelt really nice, fruity and floral, a nice combination. I like how this sample has an actual SPRAY. You know how other samples just have a lid and like...nothing else? LOL yea.

CLINIQUE - Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturiser
(Received sample size)
$90/50mL

I've never used Clinique before, but I do know that applying night moisturiser works really well for your skin if you apply it daily. I might actually try this out every night and see how it works.

JOHN FRIEDA - Go Blonder Lightening Spray
(Received sample size)
$17.99/103mL

This works also as a heat protectant spray and helps you style as well as lightening your hair :)
I'm not entirely sure if this would work on brown hair....but it says that it works within 3-5 uses. Will try when I dye my hair a little lighter. I find that with my own dyed brown hair, it usually goes a little lighter in a few weeks anyway, just naturally with a combination of fading away and sunlight.

A bonus gift:

I'm pretty happy with this month's glossybox as I did receive some full size products, and that I'd definitely use most if not all of them.
