Beige Haul

Wow, it's been a week since my latest post! :( Uni has started for me...ALREADY I KNOW, so I've been trying to get into the habit of work and studying and all that sigh. Holidays just FLEW by for me! I've bought a few things this week, only on SALE of course hehe.

Now that I look at all the pictures, I realise that they're ALL A SANDY BEIGE COLOR....hahaha.

A lot of scarves out there are thin and expensive. Even if it has a pretty pattern on it. I saw this scarf at QVB Sportsgirl on the 50% off rack and the first thing I thought was, Ooooh pretty colour. Then I looked at it again and I was like, Wow this is supeeer warm and the pattern is kinda cool :)

For less than $10, and keeping me warm, I give this scarf a thumbs up!

Just happened to be strolling around to kill time before work and I got drawn to the huge sign outside Dotti saying 50% off already reduced prices which reminded me of the Glassons sale and how I got my dress, so I popped right in and threw myself in the corner of the shop checking out all the pretty clothes and found this super cute batwing cardigan!

RUBI SHOES

I got both these pairs like ages ago, like in late May or something haha. I've worn the higher pair a few times out and they're higher than they look haha. The heel is pretty high to be honest. I got them for just under $35 cos of my staff discount hehe, (they're originally 49.95) and I got the brown boots for a little over $20. 

I wear the brown boots everywhereeeeeeeeee! They go perfect with my tights hehe. Worn them so much that it's getting worn out so I might have to go grab another pair. Maybe black suede this time. Or just another pair of these brown ones hehe.

Not sure if you can get the beige boots anymore ... but the brown boots are definitely still in store :)

OHHH and I got these from Typo last week.

The big book is one of those 5 subject books with like dividers in between. They're $9.95 (2 for $15) Perfectttt for uni

And how cuuute is the lanyard! So so cute.  $2.95

Anyway so I've spent alot ... BUT AT LEAST I SAVED A LOT!! :D

Water Decal Nail Wraps Attempt

Last month, gorgeous Jen sent me a set of Viva La Nails water decal nail wraps cos I won it in a mini giveaway :)

I hadn't got the chance to try it because

1: they looked really hard

2: I was lazy to figure out how to apply them LOL

I know they might look a little big to fit on your nail, but trust me, they fit! Except maybe my thumbs, but its just a tinyyyy amount of excess.

Anyway so today I decided, why not pull out the decals, try them and see how it goes.

I had to youtube it before, to learn how to do it, cos the instructions on the back weren't reassuring enough for me heh.

On youtube, there weren't as many tutorials on the whole nail wrap. There were way more of the smaller design water decals like the little flowers where you can put on the corner of your nail.

As always, the videos look SO easy, so after watching a few, I was like, YEAH COOL GOT THISSSSSS BRO.

Turns out its harder than it looks.

But my cousin helped me out, and after testing a few nails, she got the hang of it and finished off the rest of my nails. It's so much easier having someone doing your nails :P

Plus, with the set of water decals I got, there were only 10. So no room for mistakes!!

My experience:

We tried it on my pinky first, and it didn't stick at all to my nail. But we knew that we had to put a top coat on, so even though it wasn't sticking to my nail, she whacked on some top coat and magically the water decal stuck onto my nail. When you apply it though, thers a lot of excess hanging on the edge of your nail, so you just fold it over and get rid of the excess with a nail brush or some sort of pointy thing. 

Damn, I shoulda took photos of the process, sorry guys!

Anyway so since the pinky didn't stick, we tried putting some clear nail polish on our nail first just so there was a little bit of adhesive for the decal to stick.

It definitely worked better this time :) You're allowed to move the nail decal around until it dries and when you're happy with the position, grab some tissues or cotton buds, soak up excess water, pop on some top coat and remove the excess nail decal.

The top coat is magic. It somehow just sticks the decal onto your nail even if you put it on top. And it allows for clean cutting of the excess decal. Clear polish is fine too, cos I used that haha.

Close up, some of my decals are a little wrinkly but you can't see it from far away :)

If you do try the water decals and have excess on the sides of your nails, just grab a brush and use nail polish remover to get rid of it!

You guys should totally just watch youtube vids cos I know my explanation so far is HORRIBLE! Hahaha.

To be honest though, it did take a lot of time and patience for these type of whole nail decal wraps. And I heard they only last like 2 days!

A lot of time and effort for 2 days wear :(

But even so, I'm gonna go ebay some, cos the flower decals are sooooo gorgeous!

But yeah, that was my 2 cents input in the water decal subject :)

It's pretty cool how many things you can do with your nails besides your average nail polish.

Coral + Glitter

Just a quick post showing my latest manicure :)

To be honest, the glitter polish was a bit hard to work with, the glitters were on the brush but didnt transfer onto my nail very well. But I still made it work! And I like the effect it gave hehe.

Ignore that black edge smudge thing on my pinky finger, I was trying OPI Black Shatter but I wasn't feeling dark and vampy, so I rubbed it off and opted for sparkly girly! :D

Review: Neo Glamour Lens - Green

Hey guys, I've had these lens for a super long time but I never got the chance to show you guys properly!

What lens?

Neo Glamour Lens in Green

Apparently, thers an almost exact same one called X9 Queenie in Green, but apparently its more vibrant. They look the same to me heh.

How long do they last?

These ones say can last a year, if you take care of them properly.

Where to buy?

I, personally got these lens off a Facebook shop called Dolly Wink. 

I don't know if they still stock it cos apparently they changed owners. But you guys can try out the X9 Queenie in Green from here at Kiwiberry for $20/pair :)

So sorry, I forgot to take a pic of the lens in natural light, but yeah here's one in flash.

One thing that's different with these lenses, as you can see, is that nothings solid. Everything has gaps and spaces to help it blend better with your eyes rather than BAM-in-your-face-green. There's three colours, black, green and yellow, right on the inner :)

Diameter wise, its only 14.2mm, which isn't made for enlarging the eyes. If you guys want lens to make your eye look bigger, try looking for ones with a big outer rim. Or...you could just look for anything over 14.5mm haha.

I like the effect this lens has, both flash and non flash wise. In flash, the colour is super vibrant!

With the nonflash photo, see how subtle the green is? Bits of my brown eye are peeking out from underneath all the gaps so its not just full solid green colour staring right back at you.

People will notice you're wearing green contacts though, no doubt. 

But it's a pretty green!

If you guys want a different colour rather than blue and grey, I recommend trying green! It's a unique colour and plus, green eyes go good with brown make up hehe.

Answer to Anonymous who asked me:

How do you perfect tips for your nails?

A technique they do at nail salons, is that they paint your nail tips in whatever colour, and then they get a brush, dip it in acetone/nail polish remover and using the curve of the brush tip, they remove the polish and then create the perfect curve. Here's a diagram - I tried my best. 

Alternatively, you can just buy those french tip sticker guide thingys. 

Just stick them on your finger, paint the tips, and then peel it off and ta-da! Easy :)

Hiiiiii!

Todayyyy I met up with fellow bloggers Amanda and Bunny! With Gerry hehe. As usual, I never have the photos....LOL. Pretty sure Amanda and Bunny have them all. I don't know ... I'm not really the type to pull out my camera and take photos of PEOPLE. I tend to take photos of objects...its less awkward for me...unless its of myself. LOL.....but yeah, so thats why I don't really take photos of people.

Anyways, so sorry I didn't get a photo of everyone. I don't think we even took a group pic! :(:(:(:(

The day started off with me meeting Gerry at Central Station and we walked in the brisk morning cold to meet up with the girls. The girls were running a little late, but we eventually found Bunny and 2 mins later found Amanda too! We were squealing like little girls all hugging each other and everything, the people around us probably thought we were weird but I didn't careeee hahha.

We originally planned to eat at Twisted Noodle Bar, but the place wasn't open (even though it was 11am) so we made our way to Pepper Lunch instead :)

Here's what I got:

Double Chicken + Egg ( I LOOOOOOVE CHICKEN, seriously, its my favourite meat. LOL)

AND I COULD NOT STOP STARING AT GERRY'S IPHONE CASE.

I swear it looks soooooooo yummy and delicious.

They're mint green french tips hehe.

I was originally thinking of light pastel purple french tips but yeaa.

Speaking of nail polish, the girls and I headed down to Paddy's Markets in Chinatown.

Amanda and Bunny had never heard of Paddys before, so I guess its only in NSW!

It's just like a market thing, sell heaps of goodies for cheap hehe. Well, cheap most of the time.

I came across this nail polish basket and grabbed these two gorgeous lacquers for $3 each :)

I picked up the heart one first cos it reminded me of the limited edition Maybelline one that I've seen a few times circulating around the net. Like this:

But its not all pink but it still looked MAD in the bottle!!!

And then the silver glitter caught my eye and I picked it up as well, cos I wanted like big silver glitter to paint my nail tips with for this kinda gradient effect: 

But yeah, I had to resist myself ...

The brand is called KleanColor which I have never heard of before. And the colours are

I also tried on hair extensions cos I really wanted to see if there were ANY extensions out there that was my hair colour AND WOW this lady clipped some curly hair extensions on me (just a long wide piece) and wowwwwww it looked sooooooo preeeeeeeeeetttyy!!!

Full matched my hair colour and everything hehe I FELT LIKE A PRINCESS

The lady didnt let us take photos though :(

But she was gonna sell it to me for $60!

Im definitely gonna go back and get it next week. She said I could straighten and curl it as well and I was like WELL OKAY YOU'VE SOLD ME.

Can't wait to get it and show you guys hehe.

I really regret not staying longer with Bunny and Amanda + Gerry, but I had work :(

Haha, funny moment was when all four of us was walking down the street and then we saw this man holding a puppy in his lap and it was sooooo cuteeee, like he was all furry and you couldnt see its eyes and it was grey and small and all of us girls were just squeaaaaaling and going all spastic over the cute dog. LOL.

OH speaking of cute dogs, I LOVE going to the pet store and looking at all the cute animals, I mean who doesn't? And every time I go there, most of them are usually sleeping and today I saw this cuuuuuute white puppy all squished up against the glass sleeping with no care in the world. 

SO ADORABLEEEEEE

BUT I REALLY WANT A GUINEA PIG!!!

Did you know bunny rabbits are like banned in QLD? As pets. O_O

I really hope I get to see everyone again really soon, its such a great time hanging out with such beautiful people ♥ ♥ ♥
